When loading your mp3 file doesn’t forget to remember a couple of those love songs and ballads. Like Love of A Lifetime, by the American Rock and Roll Band, Firehouse.
Love of A Life time was written by the lead vocalist of the band, C.J. Snair. It was the bands second and highest charted single. It was released in 1991. And it’s great. It’s really no wonder that these ‘long hairs’ have stayed in the business since the eighties and have constantly and solidly ridden their wave through fame, not only here in the United States but in other countries like Asia, Japan and Singapore, even winning the 1992 American Music Awards, beating out many other popular bands of that time.
And as far as ballads go, of the first that C.J. did, this has got to be one of the best and, most likely, the one Firehouse will be remembered for. Snair wrote the song while playing solo in a Holiday Inn and when it was presented to Epic Labels it was an immediate success.
And you’ll want to download Erik Clapton’s 1989 release of Bad Love, written with Mick Jones from the band Foreigner, and the second single on the Journeyman album. with Phil Collins on the drums and singing harmony.
Anyway, Clapton also sang this song on the live album, 24 Nights, the best of 32 concerts he performed in London in 1990 and 1991. And it was this little ditty that won him the Grammy Award for Best Male Rock Vocal Performance in 1990.
It stayed on the top of the Mainstream Rock Tracks Chart for three weeks in a row. Another group that’s a must is Shenandoah. These guys are the top of the line with songs like “I Want to Be Loved Like That” and “Two Dozen Roses.” Shenandoah has several gold albums, better than a dozen number one singles and has won numerous awards, one of which was a Grammy. And last, but certainly not least, download Alan Jackson.
Anything he does. He’s a superstar that was born in Georgia in 1958 and a country music artist with better than 40 million records to his credit. He’s one of the most popular singers of the 90’s, even being placed in the Georgia Hall of Fame in 2001.
Tons of his records have reached the Top 30 of the Billboard Country Music Chart and two dozen or more hit number one. Any selection from Alan Jackson’s collection will fit the bill and fill the mp3.
