Lifetime TV
Lifetime Television is one of the channels that make up the Lifetime Networks family, an equally staked partnership between the Hearst Corporation and The Walt Disney Company.
Founded as a basic cable offering in 1984, Lifetime has branched out beyond its single outlet to form various offshoots of the original network including: Lifetime Movie Network (HD and On Demand), Lifetime Real Women (On Demand), Lifetime Movie Network en Espanol (On Demand).
Lifetime television channels are now offered by nearly every American multiple-channel television provider including cable, satellite and broadband distributors.
As their popular slogan suggests, “Lifetime, TV for women”, Lifetime Networks have become known as the most popular women’s network in North America.
Lifetime prides itself by offering niche programming aimed at women ages 18-54 featuring women in strong non-stereotypical lead and supporting roles. Lifetime also carries a variety of women’s interest news, dramas, comedies, variety shows and special programming.
It’s also building a prestigious reputation as a leader in original programming and content with high-rated movie hits such as “Coco”, the story of legendary fashion designer Coco Chanel, and “Grave Misconduct” a story of a crime writer gone awry.
Such original movies have been made available for purchase online and at major retailers nationwide. You can buy Lifetime movies that have been previously released anywhere DVDs are available.
As a companion to their media outlets, the Lifetime TV website offers support and extensions of their most popular shows along with portals for entertainment, style, shopping, health, reviews, quizzes, blogs, video, games, astrology, their current programming schedule, special offers, and an extensive online community complete with message boards and chat rooms to discuss the latest happenings on the channels.
